Kune is a poor, low-population world with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- This poor world is struggling to establish itself and living conditions in many areas are rudimentary.
- It is a member of the Two Thousand Worlds in the K'righeek Subsector of Numbis Sector.
- It was formerly a colony of the Sha Elden Lith Kindriu, known as Yezial.
- This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
Native Lifeforms[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Kune was once the Lithkind colony of Yezial. This settlement was destroyed by crusading K'kree, as discovered in a follow-up mission from the Lithkind homeworld of Izyme. A crashed K'kree ship not only provided warning to the Lithkind of the nature of their new foe, but gave them jump drive technology.
After the Hiver-K'kree War, Yezial wound up inside the agreed K'kree borders, and is now known by its K'kree name of Kune. The K'kree make little use of it other than as a Naval Base, being disquieted by the idea of living where carnivores once squatted.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Kune has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Naval Base.
World Population (P)[edit]
Kune has a population of 2,000 sophonts (thousands).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
- !kee: The common language used by K'kree throughout the Two Thousand Worlds.
World Government (G)[edit]
Kune is governed by Self-Perpetuating Oligarchy. A single family or small group provides the leadership and important positions in the government. These positions are inherited by member of the group or their family members. The organization may be a monarchy, with titles passed to family members, or a plutocracy where inheritance of the family fortune includes government position. Alternatively, the organization may be a more typical government apparatus, only with positions of power inherited.
World Law Level[edit]
K'kree worlds do not use a fixed Law Level scale, other than to forbid weaponry to anyone of any race who is not of the K'kree Warrior/Bodyguard caste or an active member in the military of the Two Thousand Worlds (which makes them a Warrior caste temporarily).
- By Imperial standards, this world is Law Level A.
- Generally, K'kree justice is merciful to other K'kree. Misunderstandings and the rare criminal matters are judged by the Krurruna (herd "boss") or their representatives. Their decisions are final, and obedience is near-absolute. Towards non-K'kree, the authorities are far less charitable, as K'kree are highly chauvinistic and mistrustful of aliens.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Kune possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-3.

Trivia[edit]
Some Lithkind conspiracy theories suggest that Hiver meddling was involved in this system's history. Some allege that the Hivers destroyed or removed the Lithkind outpost on Yezial, then placed a captured K'kree vessel and dead crew in the area. Others suppose that the Hivers were monitoring Lithkind expansion, but didn't intervene until after a K'kree scouting force exterminated the colony.
