Kfoethoennael is a moderate-population world, with too many sophonts to be an agricultural world but not enough to be an industrial world. This is a temperate world, with a climate of average temperatures.  This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor. It is a member of Infinity League in the Khuzedhoth Subsector of Knoellighz Sector.

Mainworld Data[edit]

A Dense and Tainted atmosphere (at 1.7 pressure) is largely due to commuting smog from combustion engines and the refineries needed to process the fossil fuels needed by the populace. The planet, at 8,000 kilometres in diameter, manages a .055 surface gravity -- on the forgiving side of the average -- thanks to a dense core.

It is the hopes of the local regime to elevate the mainworld to Industrial (In) and High-Population (Hi) dirtside, and someday into space again to boost the economy and draw of the system.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

A 70% hydrosphere consists of large oceans which support a healthy fishing industry.

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

In the swamps and bayous of one underdeveloped continent lives a particularly venomous dragon similar to a crocodile and reaching up to 20 feet from nose to tail tip. Of note is the swamp dragon's death roll, a violent means of drowning and envenoming its prey in deeper waters.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Kfoethoennael was the gateway system for explorers, surveyors and settlers into Knoellighz Sector, and the initial stepping stone for the Infinity League. However, this world suffered repeated and often violent indecision as to its allegiance to either the newly-forming League or the Saeknouth Dependency immediately Rimward in Gvurrdon Sector. Throughout the expansion of the newer polity into Piprninsh and Khuzedhoth Subsectors, the Vargr of this world have engaged in more than one civil war to determine that allegiance. At one point, for the span of a year, the world was non-aligned in a stalemate armistice.

As the Infinity League grew past the Jump-1 main later named the Bridge of Destiny, Kfoethoennael nearly destroyed itself in the nuclear bombing of the Downport, then A-rated. Though further devastation was planned, Emissaries from both the League and the Saeknouth Dependency came to the mainworld and sued for peace. An accord was drawn in the form of a constitution that placed a junta in power in perpetuity. Since then the world has only become more strict and solidified in its government on the jurisdiction of the two acting polities. Soon after the constitution was ratified, a new Downport was constructed on the far side of the planet.

War-torn, Kfoethoennael has sunk in Importance, trade and Tech Level as average Jump technology allowed starships to bypass this world, reaching deeper into the frontier of Knoellighz. To this day a memorial of lead and concrete stands at ground zero of the old Starport.

Though still a thoroughfare world between two polities, Kfoethoennael has settled into a communistic peace with itself and has spent the years trying to regain its trade route clout. The system features ample wilderness refueling in its four Gas Giants. Prospectors of the single, wide planetoid belt in the sixth orbit ply their trade for the lead, meteoric iron and copper. The government-controlled Downport has no extraterritoriality and visiting ships pass through stringent customs checks and searches at the drop of a hat.

The bitterness and scandal of this world's civil wars has almost forced the Infinity League to lay a version of the Imperium Amber Zone on this member world. The Office of the President has issued an edict that should the planet break out into another fission event, an interdiction may be imposed -- much to the chagrin of the Commerce faction of the League.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Kfoethoennael has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

Gvegh is the Vargr language spoken in the Infinity League, a carryover from settlers originating in Gvurrdon Sector. Many well-educated or corporate Vargr of the League also speak the Zhodani language Zdetl and touch upon Vuakedh when needed.

History-Era: Virus Era 1130s[edit]

At TL–6, this world manages to avoid infection by Virus though a few visiting vessels have to be shot down as their systems come to awareness while docked. Thanks to protective Vargr and Zhodani arriving at Kfoethoennael, the distant Regency quarantines manage to fend off disinterested Vampire Fleets after just one space battle at 100 Diameters.
