Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Kereq has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

In 677, Jarnac offered protection to Kereq as a deterrence to Aslan ihatei incursions.

World Starport[edit]

Kereq has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Government (G)[edit]

Kereq is governed by a Non-charismatic Dictatorship. This is a continuation of the charismatic dictatorship, where the original leadership has died or retired and been replaced by allies or protégés. The justifications for the original change in government remain as well as the assertion of rights to rule.

This world is part of the Jarnac Pashalic. The world of Jarnac accounts for more than three-quarters of the polity's population and nearly 99% of the wealth, and each additional planet has a member of the Pasha's family as titular head of state. In practice, though, this and other member worlds are essentially autonomous. Jarnac and its central bureaucracy remain responsible for diplomatic relations, external trade and all defence forces beyond a world's atmosphere, but a Pashalic world is otherwise free to govern itself.

World Military[edit]

The Jarnac Pashalic does not have a standing army, leaving internal security functions to its Ministry of Public Safety.
