Hespitar is a pre-agricultural and nonindustrial world lacking adequate development for its economy to become prosperous.
- As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
- It is a member of the Akeena Union in the Lowton Subsector of Gateway Sector.
- About 60% of the population is composed of Akeed.
- About 40% of the population is composed of humans and other sophonts.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
No information yet available.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Hespitar has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Hespitar has a population of 80,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).
- This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
Demographics[edit]
Linguistic Topography: 1105[edit]
The following languages are most commonly heard on this world:
- Akeed languages.
- Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Third Imperium and common to many Human worlds; in this region, mostly variant dialects.
- Galian: The Solomani-derived language of Human corporate interests and star nations of Gateway Sector.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Hespitar possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
- Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
- Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
- Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
- FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.
World Government (G)[edit]
Hespitar is governed by a Corporate Polity, having a single corporation with a typical corporate structure as a government. Essentially, this is a "company town" (or world). The typical corporate-run world usually has a single purpose. Examples include mining, agriculture, or other kinds of resource extraction. But rather than a simple base of operations, there are facilities for housing workers and their families, including hospitals, schools, and other infrastructure. How, or if, the children of the workers are incorporated into the workforce varies with companies. The corporation running the world may be a subsidiary of a larger interstellar corporation.
World Military[edit]
The Akeena Union has a small fleet of fairly advanced Jump-2 vessels. The Akeed are not expansionist, and their vessels are intended to operate on interior lines of communication. Small tripwire squadrons are stationed here, with the main fleet elements at Akeen.
- Actual capabilities and armament of Union vessels are unknown to outsiders.
World Law (L)[edit]
Hespitar has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
World Culture[edit]
Little is known about the Akeed society, as most visitors to their worlds interact with Humans for the most part. Still, Akeed are known as pleasant, gregarious people. They settle disputes by long, amiable arguments and pleasant wit.
