History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Harmony itself is a peaceful world, but despite being the centre of trade routes through the subsector, it does not pursue a harmonious foreign policy. By encouraging rebellions and wars on both Cotinga and Erzurum, overtly controlling New Harmony, and effectively controlling Cabranidi, Harmony exerts influence over any alternate routes through the subsector.

It historically also made an effort to gain control of Aubusson, but was outbid by representatives of Baixing.

World Starport[edit]

Harmony has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Harmony has a population of 3,000,000,000 sophonts (billions).

World Timeline[edit]

  • 848: Baixing Star Navy Commander Henry Follette undercuts an offer by Harmony to gain hegemony over Aubusson. The Baixing Grand Senate reluctantly back the gambit.
  • 934: Fearing that the facility at Velva will be taken over by Harmony, Baixing offers Circulus more than fair value for the system and its assets in return for joint control and the promise of investing in new facilities. Circulus accepts.
  • 984: Diadem Trade Council is established at Baixing.
  • 1054: Conference of Baixing; most systems along the Diadem Main agree to cooperate in reducing tariffs and overwise encouraging trade. Diadem Trade League formed.
