Dharmendra has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water. The system supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Gimushi Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Dharmendra, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world. 20% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.

History and Background[edit]

This system was briefly a high-tech, fairly well populated culture until the end of the False Dawn. During the Bust, maintenance of the undersea and floating settlements underwent a sharp decline, leading to catastrophic failures and the deaths of millions. By 330, most of the population had abandoned the world, usually relocating to Pamushgar (Empty Quarter 1537).

Dharmendra’s main industry is selling dog meat to wealthy Asian nobles in Lishun and Antares Sectors. The main farm raising and processing the dogs, Puddle Farms, is run by Ovaghoun Vargr immigrants from the Rukadukaz Republic.

Dharmendra is a water world with a highport set up by Illumiti LIC.Illumiti actually sells the water of the planet to the dry, nearby worlds. Due to the amount of water needed, it actually is economically viable. The port floats on the endless ocean of the planet waiting for the ships to enter orbit where smaller vessels take tanks from the vessel down.
  • Science advisory: Please note that water is quite common in the universe. What makes Dharmendra economically viable is not so much having water per se: it is the low cost of transport: taking all factors into account, it is cheaper for nearby systems to make a jump to Dharmendra and back home, then to jump into your own outer system, mine an iceball, melt it and purify it, and jump back home.
