Campaign:BTC/Hammand (world)
For data not campaign specific see Hammand
Description (Astrography and Planetology)[edit]
System Data[edit]
There is a world in the habitable zone of Kimar (Hammand B) called Xing.
Mainworld Data[edit]
As described
Xing[edit]
World Size (S)[edit]
Xing is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away. The planet has a day length equal to exactly two planetary orbits.
World Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Xing has a pressure of 0.10 to 0.42 atmospheres. The very thin pressures require a respirator or Oxygen Mask. TL–5 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
World Hydrosphere (H)[edit]
Xing has 05-15% of its surface covered by liquid water or ice. Wilderness refueling will be difficult. Water for the inhabitants needs to be imported and extensively recycled. These worlds are Hell Worlds or Poor Worlds depending on their atmosphere.
[edit]
Flora[edit]
None.
n.b. The planet appears to have been contaminated with a micro-biota (lichen-like flora) about IY -300,000. Given the limited number of species in this introduction (just two), this may have been an accident. These have evolved into several hundred related types since that first introduction, all within 100km of the coast.
Fauna[edit]
None.
History & Background[edit]
Mainworld Economy[edit]
The world shut down in 1136 but since that time, the Aegzagangnthoegngvang have moved in miners and have set up a basic administration which has a monopoly over Power Supply and thus the availability of fresh air. An attempt to circumvent this through reactivating an old solar farm was discovered in early 1138, but the residents who had engineered this were prepared for this eventuality and made a surprisingly effective withdrawal from the settlement even downing some of the Garrison's Grav APCs.
Historical Data[edit]
Long Night[edit]
A small Terran settlement on Xing survived the entire period, trading with Khouth.
A Vilani settlement arrived on Hammand from Khouth in -192
Vargr Campaigns[edit]
The colony on Hammand was raided several times by the Vargr. While not wiped out, it was resettled (and renamed) in 324 by a group of retired Imperial Marines under Force Commander (IM) Hammand who becomes the first knight awarded a fief on the world.
