History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Badkar is part of the Vale Cluster, one of the "trade clusters" of Cytrialin space.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Badkar has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Badkar has a population of 100,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).

World Demographics[edit]

Nearly 100% of the population are Lamura, consisting of the human Lamura Teg and the non-human Lamura Gav.

World Languages[edit]

The Cytrialin language is a derived form of an old Vilani dialect.

World Government (G)[edit]

Badkar is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.

World Law (L)[edit]

Badkar has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A few worlds with this law level may be a Red Zone and others will be an Amber Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors).

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Badkar possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Culture[edit]

The guiding philosophy of the Lamura people is a lengthy work called the Cytrialin. The Cytrialin is both a rough and biased history of the Lamura peoples as well as a complex system of ethics and morality, alongside a compilation of practical advice for life. Because so many of the Lamura are noted for reading or quoting the Cytrialin when in distress or seeking answers to a difficult problem, they have gained a reputation for being fanatics and impractical mystics, though the text is noted for genuinely effective systems for practical problem solving.
