Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Aueaiai is a Meso World between 12,000km and 13,500km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.8G and 1.1G. The horizon will appear about 5.1km away. Vessels with 1G of thrust should check with local starport authorities before attempting to land using emergency power.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Aueaiai has a pressure of 1.50 to 2.49 atmospheres. While a Dense Atmosphere requires no survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

  • The local biological taint is hazardous to Humans and Vargr, but not Aslan.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Aueaiai has 35-45% of its surface covered by liquid water. There will be a number of small seas or one larger body of water. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

A small enclave of Aslan has lived on Aueaiai for more than a thousand years. The origins of this colony are lost to myth. The community believes in collective decision-making -- very unusual for Aslan.

Aueaiai is scarce in metals and of no commercial interest to outsiders.

World Starport[edit]

Aueaiai has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Aueaiai has a population of 5,000 sophonts (thousands).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.
  • The population consists of Aslan.

Urbanization[edit]

The Aslan settlements occupy a small corner of the planetary supercontinent; the vast majority of the land surface is unclaimed.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Aueaiai possesses a Technology Level of TL–2.

World Government (G)[edit]

Aueaiai is governed by a Participatory Democracy where eligible voters determine laws and policy. What determines an eligible voter varies. There may be smaller councils or regional bodies to draft the policies voted upon. Leadership of the government and all members of the bureaucracy are determined by the voting population.

  • All adult Aslan vote in an assembly that meets once per local year (every 180 standard days). Emergency measures are decided by referenda with votes collected by runners from scattered villages who meet in a central shrine.

World Law (L)[edit]

Aueaiai has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
