History & Background[edit]

The Murians long standing policy of armed neutrality has been tested by the growing Aslan presence on their trailing borders in the Vanguard Reaches, and small border skirmishes occur frequently. The high TL of the Commonwealth keep the Aslan at bay, and an alliance is maintained with the Corellians to prevent further territorial encroachment, despite the fact that the Corellians and the Murians rarely agree on anything.

The Commonwealth is a multi-racial union, with a sizeable human minority. In antebellum times the Murians enjoyed only sporadic contact with the rest of Charted Space due to their remote location. Trade contacts with polities in neighboring Beyond and Far Frontiers have expanded since the Collapse, and both the Regency and the Zhodani Consulate enjoy good relations with this enigmatic species. A trade route, beginning at the Commonwealth's rimward border, is the sole link between the Regency of Muirimi, and the rest of Charted Space.

Arcturan Commonwealth (Polity) Government & Politics[edit]

The Arcturan Commonwealth government is characterized as having an average degree of centralization, which has difficulty setting uniform policies that direct the entire multi-system state, but gives a high degree of freedom to local/planetary governments. The Arcturan Commonwealth government is usually classified as a Union, a form of a Federation.
