Sewe is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)

Sewe is a binary star system.

  • The primary is a yellow-white main sequence.

System Data

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

Mainworld Data

The mainworld orbits within the star's Habitable Zone.

  • It lies within the zones prime H region.
  • It receives moderate levels of stellar energy.

Chart H Region Mw.png

Mainworld Size (S)

Sewe is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Sewe has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Sewe has 55-65% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has significant large liquid bodies. Wilderness refueling is possible.

Satellites

Sewe retains two small vacuum moons.

  • The worlds orbit once every few weeks.

Mainworld Geography and Topography

No centrally held map of the world exists within AAB Library Data records.

  • Locally, detailed maps may be available.
  • Verified updated charts are constantly sought.
  • Detailed survey data commands premium prices.

Native Lifeforms

Abundant native life occupying every available ecological niche. Its metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.

History & Background (Dossier)

Sewe is a growing settlement. The infrastructure is being upgraded and living conditions are improving.

A number of organizations and private interests are active within the system.

  • Commercial traffic is fairly frequent: ships regularly arrive and depart.
  • Commo is filled with signals and private chatter. Communications are in Trokh.
  • Multiple commercial navigation beacons will be active.
  • Vessels rarely operate among the other worlds and moons that make up the system.
  • Naval vessels may be active in the system.

Aslan settlement began during the 1060s.

The human population of the world arrived with the Aslan.

  • Most are integrated members of society.
  • Many are not there by choice.

Note that social data, though frequently updated, may be out of date: additional groups may now inhabit the system and maintain their own culture, forms of government, and systems of law.

  • Verified updated data is constantly sought.

World Starport (St)

Sewe has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)

Sewe has a population of 2,000,000 sophonts (millions).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • Around 30 percent of the population (approximately 600,000 individuals) are Aslan.
  • About 70 percent of the population (nearly 1.4 million individuals) are human.

Urbanization

A few large urban centers are surrounded by smaller satellite communities.

  • The population are concentrated into a single relatively densely populated region.
  • Much of the surface of the world remains as wilderness.

All buildings are constructed in the distinctive curved style of the Aslan.

  • The oldest structures on the world are no more than 50 years old.

World Technology Level (T)

Sewe possesses a Technology Level of TL–5.

World Government (G)

Sewe is governed by a single Aslan Clan as part of a multi-world polity or pocket empire. Members of ruling clan are present to effect government leadership.

World Military

Approximately 10,000 professional warriors, in service to the clan authorities.

World Law (L)

Sewe has an extreme law level which covers every area of interaction. Laws are complex, detailed, and difficult to understand. Every interaction with the government requires an Advocate. Law enforcement is omnipresent and strict. Legal proceeding can take months to years to resolve and may involve dozens of people. A world with this law level may be an Amber Zone or a Red Zone. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (with no exception for private residences; visiting starships are only protected so long as they stay within designated starports and approach corridors). Civilian movement is rigidly controlled. On worlds with this degree of law, it is difficult to distinguish the police from the military. On others, there is no difference.

Trade Data

  • Importance: -3 (very unimportant)

World Economy

  • Resources: 6 (few)
  • Labor: 5 (hundreds of thousands)
  • Infrastructure: 5 (limited)
  • Efficiency: -5 (extremely poor)

World Culture

  • Homogeneity: 3 (monolithic)
  • Acceptance: 6 (aloof)
  • Strangeness: 8 (very confusing)
  • Symbols: 7 (somewhat concrete)
