Starships are designed with the Classic Traveller format, using High Guard Shipyard v1.13 written by Andrea Vallance. |
The Last Armada class Scout is a warship.
- It is a military ship and a Scout.
Description (Specifications)
Designed and built for the Expedition, the Terran contingency plan in the event of military defeat against the Vilani Imperium. These vessels took part in the desperate exodus as part of the Last Armada following the Destruction of Terra in 2147AD. Vessels of this type are known to have explored The Cauldron. These ships would be dispatched to recon surrounding systems along the fleet's projected path of advance. They looked for bodies in "empty" areas which could be used for crossing rifts. Orphan comets, icy-dusty nebular materials which could be condensed and refined into precious fuel for the fleet. As a result they often became unintentional first contact vessels. To this day some worlds' UFO stories trace back to these ships.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]

Hull
This large displacement fleet scout is built around an unarmored hull built in a streamlined flattened sphere configuration. It is equipped with fuel scoops for wilderness refueling should that opportunity present itself.
Engineering
The fleet scout has performance of jump-2 and 5G acceleration and has an agility rating of 2. It carries enough internal fuel for two consecutive jumps and can be fitted with drop tanks as needed to cross larger rift zones. It is equipped with an onboard purification plant
Main Section
Adjacent to the bridge is a computer model/4 computer. There are six staterooms, allowing single occupancy accommodations for the crew, and 2 low berths for extra crew to share and rotate the duties over a long voyage.
The crew consists of the captain/pilot, 2x engineers, 1x medic/science officer, and 2x gunners/damage control experts.
Weapons
The Fleet Scout carries a triple missile turret and a triple beam laser turret (used to deal with threats of both natural and sophont origin).
