Ginshar is a non-agricultural and nonindustrial world.

  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society.
  • It is unable to produce quality foodstuffs and must import them.
  • It has few prospects for economic development. Life here is drastically bleak.
  • This dangerous world is designated an Amber Zone with an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that make it dangerous to visitors.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Adar Subsector of Hinterworlds Sector.
  • This world-system has a Naval Base, usually associated with military starships, which may be located on or off-world.
  • Nearly 100% of the population is composed of Ginsharians.
  • Less than 10% of the population is composed of baseline humans and other non-human sophonts.
  • This system's inhabitants are extremely xenophobic and hostile to anyone or thing that is not invited giving it an Amber rating by the IISS.

Urbanisation

Ginsharian architecture is characterized by its clean, sterile, and geometric lines. Ginsharian cities are typically large monolithic structures composed of windowless cubes, cylinders, or other basic symmetrical geometric shapes. The exterior color is generally white, but other colors may be used.

The interior of Ginsharian structures is best described as sterile. There will be no evidence of anything that doesn't have a useful function. Art, decoration, or any other aesthetic present will have an artificial and contrived feel. Other species that have visited Ginsharian cities have often commented that they are "unsettling" or "disquieting".

Ginsharian cities have what is often described as an "eerie" silence to them. The usual hum of conversation, music, or other sound is largely or entirely missing.
