World Culture
There are occasional planets in explored space on which robots are worshiped. Among these is Juess.
- After a disastrous internecine struggle for power, when the world suffered from a balkanized government, knowledge of the advanced technologies of the inhabitants was lost.
- Since Juess is a desert world, the remaining robots were revered as "Providers" and "Life-givers". They are carefully tended by a priestly class which has no real understanding of the technology driving the robots.
- On the occasions when one of these robots ceases to function, the "death" of the god is mourned, and citizens may be offered as sacrifices to appease the other gods.
