Inas is a rich, agricultural world with improving living conditions due to a bustling agro-economy.
- As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
- This is a rich world with a prosperous and thriving world economy.
- This world is rich with high-grade living conditions, a good climate, and a non-harmful environment. Immigration registration for this world is always in high demand.
- This is a "low technology" world with technology competencies well below standard for Charted Space.
- It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Ras Tennol Subsector of Far Home Sector.
Astrography and Planetology
This star system is detailed using the Fringian Variant System Description.
System Data
Comity-Inas System
The primary is Comity, an ordinary yellow main sequence star. It has a luminosity of 0.886 Sols, a mass of 0.98 Sols, and a diameter of 1.391 million km. The inner system consists of (II) an exotic atmosphere stormworld – orbital position (I) is empty. (III-I) a Standard atmosphere hospitable world, and (III-II) Inas, designated the mainworld, have a shared orbit within the habitable zone. (IV) a very thin atmosphere hospitable world, (V) a large gas giant, (VI) a sparse stony planetoid belt, (VII) a ringed large gas giant, and (VIII) a small ice giant form the outer system. Many of the worlds retain satellites.
Solitar Subsystem
The companion is Solitar, a magenta-colored L-type brown dwarf lying approximately 6,450 AU from Comity. It is not luminous, it has a mass of 0.062 Sols and a diameter of 60,000 km. (II) a vacuum iceworld form the outer system – orbital position (I) is empty. The world does not retain satellites.
Mainworld Data
(III-II) Inas
(III-II) Inas is designated the mainworld. It orbits Comity at a mean distance of 0.76 AU (113.7 million km), within the habitable zone. It has an orbital period of 244 days 11 hours and a rotation period of 33 hours. The axial tilt is 23 degrees. Inas has a diameter of 8,593 km, a density of 4.62 g/cm³, and a surface gravity of 0.57 G. The world is geologically active. Its atmosphere is rated as Dense, with a mean surface pressure of 2.14 bar and a composition of 78% nitrogen (N2), 21% oxygen (O2), and 1% argon (Ar), water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), neon (Ne) and other trace gases. Approximately 62% of the surface is covered in seas of liquid water: average tidal ranges exceed 0.25m. Mean surface temperature: -12°C. The atmosphere is dynamic and powerful weather systems driven by the star and the oceans sweep across the globe. The climate is seasonal.
Satellite
Inas retains a single natural satellite, a cratered ice-capped trace atmosphere worldlet named Polotus:
- (III-IIa) Polotus (UWP H212000-0, orbiting at 12 Diameters/105,000 km)
Mainworld Geography and Topography
Total surface area: 232 million km², Water surface area: 144 million km², Land surface area: 88 million km².
Native Lifeforms
Comity-Inas System
The temperate hospitable world lying in orbital position (III-I) (within the habitable zone) has extensive, abundant native life, with complex organisms inhabiting every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
Inas, the mainworld, has extensive native life, consisting of microscopic organisms, stromatolite-parallels and primitive flora that can be found in almost every ecological niche. Their metabolic functions drive the process of atmospheric renewal.
The cold marginally hospitable world lying in orbital position (XX) (within the H+ region of the outer system) has primitive native life, consisting entirely of microscopic cyanobacteria-parallels that exist in any location where they can find even a minimal trace of shelter and warmth. Their metabolic functions maintain the process of atmospheric renewal.
No other world in the system is known to have native life.
Solitar Subsystem
The single world in the subsystem is not known to have native life.
History & Background (Dossier)
No information yet available.
World starport
Inas has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World technology level
Inas possesses a Technology Level of TL–3.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Printing press, the mechanical telegraph, and the first audio recordings.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Coal or other simple hydrocarbon fuels and early steam engines.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Bicycles and early steam coaches with advanced roadways.
- Water: Advanced sailing and early steam engine ships.
- Air: The earliest hot air balloons.
World government
Inas is governed by an Impersonal Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy dictates government policy and its execution. Government leadership is reduced to little more than figureheads and does not select the bureaucracy leadership or its members.
