The Nobility of this world is a distinguished group of individuals that include both the Imperial Nobles associated with the world as well as any local planetary aristocracy associated with its local government, culture and society.

Description (Specifications)

The Imperial Nobility of this world includes all nobles granted titles associated with the world by either the Emperor of the Third Imperium or the Archduke of the Domain. Landed Imperial Nobles are those Imperial Nobles who have been granted direct representative authority for the world in the Imperial Moot, and who administer Imperial interests associated with this world. The positions these nobles hold are typically noted in the Nobility Extension data of most Imperial world data-files provided by the Imperial Grand Survey of the IISS. Landed Nobles are always uniquely styled as the "TITLE" of "WORLDNAME". Ceremonial Imperial Nobles include those Imperial Nobles who have been appointed to a specific Imperial Office or who perform a specific function for the Imperial government, and who happen to have their associated Imperial Land Grants and a principal place of residence on the world. Imperial Honour Nobles are those nobles who do not have a specific governmental function associated with the particular title, but have been granted the title as a reward for achievement or service, or in some cases are Legacy Nobles whose family have held titles of administration in the past but currently have no specific governmental office, retaining only their lands and title.

Planetary and Local Nobility include individuals who hold a title of aristocracy within the local planetary culture of the world, but in some cases also include Imperial Nobles who do not hold a title associated with the world, but who nevertheless hold some property on the world. Titles, forms, and styles of Local Nobility can be quite diverse.

Planetary (Local) Nobility of Dingir

History & Background (Dossier)

The local Beaudoin family dates to a time prior to the establishment of the Solomani Autonomous Region in 704, and remained on-world during the entire period of Solomani secessionism, tenuously holding on to their Imperial titles, loyalty, and aristocratic pretensions. Upon the conclusion of the Solomani Rim War, the Emperor Gavin elevated the then current head of the Beaudoin family to the Dukedom of Dingir. Upon his accession to the position, the 3rd Duke, Robert, pushed forward a vote of no-confidence in the Rim Senate concerning the leadership of the then Sector Duke Shulgi Inaari of Concord, securing for himself the position of Sector Governor of the Solomani Rim and alienating many of the more conservative nobles of the Rim, including the Archduke of Sol. In 1112 Archduke Adair declared his intention to move the Domain Capital to Muan Gwi in the Vegan District and personally take up the position of acting Sector Duke for the Solomani Rim. In response and protest, Duke Robert abdicated his position in favor of his heir, the 4th Duchess Erika Chandos Beaudoin, and two years later accepted the Honor Life-Title of Marquis Beaudoin of Dingir as a conciliation from the Emperor.
