Retion is a world suited to becoming an agricultural world, but with a population between 10,000 and 100,000 sophonts it lacks the capability to produce or process sufficient resources to export its projected agricultural produce. It is a Vargr dominated Non-Aligned world in the Pretoria Subsector of Deneb Sector.

Government control of this world is by an external military force. It is a member of Regency of Deneb in the Pretoria Subsector of Deneb Sector and in the Regency Frontier. 100% of the world's population is the Major Race Vargr.

Mainworld Data

Mainworld Size (S)

Retion is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)

Retion has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)

Retion has 75-85% of its surface covered by liquid water with a few large continents and extensive islands. Wilderness refueling is possible.

History & Background (Dossier)

This is a marginal, if comfortable world that attracted a variety of back-to-nature groups in years following the Third Frontier War. Industrial development was conspicuously avoided, and trade with both Imperial neighbors and nearby Vargr worlds was heavily encouraged.

World Starport

Retion has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Later History

The warmth of relations with the Vargr lulled local leaders into a false sense of security, and the world had no defenses against Vargr corsairs that took the world in 1119. Scorched earth tactics used by several corsair groups to root out possible guerillas destroyed the world's economy, and thousands of locals fled for safer worlds in the Domain.

The world was seized by line forces of the Assemblage of 1116 in 1128, and the world was ceded to them under the 1132 final adjustments.

Renamed Gnaghdze, the world is really just a large refugee camp, as most of its inhabitants are unfortunates that have straggled in from the former Vargr Extents, and who lack the money or connections to get them further into the Regency.
