The Droyne Oytrip Yatroy is the generalized term used for the totality of Droyne governments by sophontologists. It includes smaller planetary governments and larger organizations, all of which follow a government form known more commonly as the "Droyne Hierarchy".

  • In Oynprith, Droyne Oytrip Yatroy translates as the "Mandate for Droyne Community".
  • The Droyne don't seem to require governments in the same way that other sophonts might; and they certainly don't seem to have a need for territory in the same way that Aslan, Vargr, or Humaniti do. Droyne (polities) governments exist within other polities although more Droyne-controlled worlds seem to be located within the Third Imperium than its neighbours.
  • The bottom line, as nearly any Imperial political scientist or sophontologist will tell you, is that the Droyne, let alone their governance, are simply not well understood.

Goals[edit]

No one really has any idea what the goals of Droyne societies may be, other than simple survival.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

There are so many different Droyne societies and worlds that it is difficult to record the histories of all of these disparate entities.

  • Some Imperial historians have proposed that the history of the Ancients IS the history of the Droyne, but this theory, while having wide acceptance, is still disputed by many.
  • See Ancients for more information.

Demographics: 1116[edit]

Significant populations of the following sophont races reside within this polity:

Government & Politics (Leadership)[edit]

The Droyne Oytrip Yatroy, or "Droyne Hierarchy", is a multi-system, multi-sector hegemony, often called a "psionic hegemony", a government structure characterized by a very high degree of governmental centralization that gives local (planetary) governments a low level of freedom, while enjoying a very strong ability to establish unified policy.

  • Droyne society and government are very much a function of psionics. The Droyne Leader Caste is already psionically programmed, or genetically evolved, if you will, to lead and direct Droyne societies. As such, other Droyne are strongly disposed towards following the direction of the Leader Caste. The Droyne don't seem to need to codify their laws since they are already understood on some basic, primal level.

Government Structure[edit]

Due to the biological caste nature of the Droyne, independent Droyne worlds essential have one underlying government type: Droyne Hierachy. When balkanized worlds are found containing Droyne, each and every Droyne territory is a Droyne Hierachy type government:

Droyne Government Codes
Code Name Description
X Droyne Hierarchy Established communities are ruled by hereditary and long-established governments

Leadership & Psionics[edit]

The Droyne Psionic Society would be the envy of even the Zhodani if they truly understood Droyne psychology. Unfortunately, Droyne society and governance are not well understood, even by the Zhodani Consulate (which generally has good relations with Droyne nations within its sphere of influence).

  • The Droyne Psionic Society is very different than the polities of Humaniti and most other sophonts.

Calendar & Timekeeping (Chronology)[edit]

It is unknown how the Droyne form a calendar or track time although it is assumed that Droyne timekeeping is based upon the cycles and periods of their homeworld, Eskayloyt (Droynia), of which the location is unknown.

  • The Droyne calendar likely should start around -75,000 Imperial, however the Droyne aren't known for keeping good records.
  • Please see Date Conversion for more information.

Mathematics[edit]

The Droyne use a Base-6 system of mathematics, including mathematical logic, arithmetic, statistics, particle mechanics, and other branches of mathematics.

Sciences[edit]

The Droyne possess an advanced knowledge of the sciences that includes:

  • A formalized method of scientific inquiry.
  • Eskayloyt (planetary) and Space sciences, including astronomy, cosmology, and geosciences.
  • Social sciences, including psychology and sociology.
  • Life sciences, including biology.
  • Physical sciences, including chemistry and physics.
  • Formal sciences, including mathematics and logic.

Military & Intelligence (Force Projection)[edit]

Droyne societies maintain local constabularies for maintaining law and order and also often form private militaries dedicated to security purposes and self-defense.

  • Since the Droyne are a psionic community, actual physical or astrographical location do not matter.
