Description / Specifications
Poor worlds exhibit marginal environmental conditions, at least from the perspective of humans and many other sophonts. Their atmospheres, while considered breathable (though often requiring artificial assistance) are at best thin, and they have little surface water.
Planetary Characteristics
- 3 or less (below 35%).
Poor worlds may also be Hell Worlds or Desert Worlds.
Probable Planetary Orbit & Climate
Poor worlds occur where it is possible to retain a suitable kind of atmosphere.
- Inner system worlds, orbiting close to their star, may be too hot to retain any of the required atmosphere types.
- Likewise, outer system worlds, orbiting far from their star, may be too cold to retain the required types of atmosphere.
