The Stormhaven Republic is an interstellar polity in the Storm Subsector of The Beyond Sector, centered on the world of Stormhaven/Storm (Beyond 1724).
Description (Milieu: 1200)[edit]

History & Background (Dossier) (Milieu: 1200)[edit]
This area was settled by individualists with little respect for titles of formality. With Aslan territory so close, this collection of republics has functioned well together.
However, courage and resourcefulness cannot make up for the tremendous manufacturing and economic advantages enjoyed by the Aslan. Only the internal feuds and rivalry of the Aslan have kept this border state from being swallowed whole. Border raids by both sides are common.
The Republic was founded in 422 following the end of the Twelfth Storm Knight Expedition against the Aslan. With the Peace of Kaiear, the planet Garrone was renamed Stormhaven, and the Storm Knights left the Corellan League to establish their own state.
Internal Politics[edit]
The Stormhaven Republic allows each member planet to govern itself, so long as the world is some form of democracy. Each planet elects representatives to the government on Stormhaven, the legislature that handles interplanetary affairs. In spite of some petty quarrels, the threat of Aslan attack has kept the Republic strongly united.
Demographics[edit]
Significant populations of the following sophont races exist within this polity:

Government & Politics (Leadership)[edit]
Despite the dominance of Stormhaven, the Republic does have broad representation. The Congress is a bicameral body -- a Senate with three delegates from each of the worlds and a House of Delegates with logarithmic representation. Therefore, Stormhaven only holds nine of the 99 seats.
Military Forces[edit]
The Storm Knights serve as the military of the Republic (which they predate significantly).
The interstellar warfighting branch is the Order of the Inconstant Star, tasked with rapid deployment and offensive operations, mostly against ihatei incursions. By convention, nearly all this capability is contained in destroyer, frigate or corvette-sized starships, with support vehicles filling out a small task force.
Interstellar Relations[edit]
Good relations exist with:
Troubled relations exist with:
The exceptions to the Republic's general avoidance of foreign entanglements are mutual defence treaties with Sant Rabloes, Beriel, and Lod, although relations with the Monarchy of Lod have been strained since Anne III reacted poorly to the Order of the Inconstant Star's ridicule of Lod's performance in a fleet exercise.
Worlds & Sectors (Astrography)[edit]
The world of Stormhaven -- formerly Garrone -- is the centre of the Republic, which rules over 21 worlds arranged in three mains, each of seven systems and named after their most prominent world. These are the Stormhaven, Excalibur, and Destiny Mains.
