The Conquest class Heavy Cruiser is a line warship.
- It is a military ship and a Heavy Cruiser.
Description (Specifications)
This design is a product of the orbital boatyards of Tal Varisa (Far Home 0911), and represent one of the most dangerous battle lines anywhere in this region of space. Almost no other power can stand against their firepower and overwhelming numbers. However, their true function is disguised by subtle misdirection. They serve as tankers for the Magada class Battleships on special long range strikes.
Basic Ship Characteristics
Following the Imperial Navy and IISS Universal Ship Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the ship. Tonnage on the universal ship profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary. [1]
| #. | Category | Remarks |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Tonnage | 50,000 tons. It is an fully streamlined, needle/wedge structure hull. |
| 2. | Crew | 480 with 120 marines. The low watch can be used to replace crew loses or for extra troops. |
| 3. | Performance | They are capable of 3-G acceleration and have 2-Agility. They are fitted with enough internal fuel for two Jump-2s and a single Jump-1. |
| 4. | Electronics | They are fitted with a pair of model 5 fib computers. |
| 5. | Hardpoints | 500 hardpoints. |
| 6. | Armament | The spinal particle accelerator and shoals of missiles can batter and dispose of most enemy ships of the line. They have 10 triple beam laser turrets, 10 dual plasma gun turrets firing in a point defense role, the best spinal particle accelerator available at this technology level and 400 triple missile turrets for offense. |
| 7. | Defenses | These ships give the appearance of a heavy cruiser and carry the appropriate weapons load, their weakness is the lack of reinforced hull armor. For defense they have a repulsor bay, carry 25 triple sand caster turrets in five batteries. |
| 8. | Craft | They can carry 120 marines with 95 drop capsules, a squadron of ten 10 ton light fighters and two 20 ton recovery boats. |
| 9. | Fuel Treatment | They are fitted with fuel scoops and on board fuel purification for wilderness ocean refueling. |
| 10. | Cost | MCr35,598.874 in quantity=28,479.099 |
| 11. | Construction Time | 36 months average. |
| 12. | Comments | They have storage capacity for an additional 3,045 tons of fuel to service other vessels and can carry Jump-2 drop tank. |
