Hellas is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other lifeforms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Ushra Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Hellas, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. Less than 10% of the world's population is the Major Race Aslan. During the Long Night this world was named Sas.

System Data

The worlds of the system have been surveyed. They consist of:

History and Background

Hellas was unpopulated until a survey by the Xenobiology unit of the Free University of Ushra in 677 identified Fillaslopu as a potential valuable food source. The success of the pilot farms ensured the influx of prospective farmers who set about trying to tame the frozen plains of Hellas.

The main city on Hellas, Kendricks-Alaal, developed around an atmospheric terraforming tower which was built to remove a sulphur taint from the atmosphere. The Tower was later decommissioned, stripped of the terraforming machinery, and refitted as a residential area. It also serves as an atmospheric and environmental monitoring station, taking readings from the immediate locale and receiving data from a series of remote sensing satellites.

World Starport (St)

Hellas has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Demographics

The Aslan make up a small but significant percentage of the total population (about 2%) on Hellas, for it is estimated that this 2% hold approximately 22% of the total wealth.

Cities of note include the following:

  • Kendricks-Alaal (population 2,236,000), Starport class-A
  • Jajuno-Diaz (population 890,500), F-class spaceport
  • Keetal (population 695,000), F-class spaceport
  • Honverda (population 573,700), F-class spaceport
  • Madni-Cruz (population 216,000), G-class spaceport
