History & Background / Dossier[edit]

Zedesu is close to the border between the Imperium and the Julian Protectorate, part of a small cluster accessible by jump-2 ships and important to the Imperium as a market rather than a producer, although it does have a modest TL-10 industrial base.

Its massive population is ruled by a dictatorship, which for many years had been stable and largely untroubled. Dissent always existed but was kept at acceptable levels by a combination of security measures and the cultivation of a high standard of living. Unfortunately, this resulted in high spending levels, which proved unsustainable in the long term. By 1105 the emphasis was on arrests and removal of ‘privileges’ for suspect areas. This created increasing anger among a population wearied of collective punishments, and in time the emergence of an armed insurgent movement.

Imperial High / Landed Nobility[edit]

Zedesu, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.

World Starport[edit]

Pome has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which includes amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Technology Level[edit]

Gumurlag possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Zedesu is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are young governments, coming as a recent change and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
