Woswaab is a rich and agricultural production world with a shirt-sleeve atmosphere and a balance of available surface water. The system supports a population in the millions of sophonts, lacking the industrial base to be completely self-supporting. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Yogesh Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Woswaab, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world contains a Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. 80% of the world's population is the Minor Race Bwap.

  • This world was once known as Sabtah until 690.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

History and Background[edit]

Before 690, this was the Arab-dominated world of Sabtah. Given to the Bwaps by Emperor Zhakirov as a token of thanks for their loyalty in maintaining the Imperial bureaucracy during the Civil War, it remained a sore point with the local Arab population, even centuries later.

Woswaab remains a low-tech system, unlike the other Bwap systems, but similar to most of the human worlds in the "Six Subsectors".

World Starport (St)[edit]

Woswaab has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used here:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Imperium.
  • Arabic: An enduring language of Terran descent.
  • Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Imperium.
  • Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps.

World Culture[edit]

Bwaps organise themselves into crèches. The crèche is where Bwaps will select a mate, where the eggs will be guarded and tended to, and where the young will be educated by the Satha-a-atta-wapawab (Elders of the Creche). The crèche is also the center of Bwap spirituality, and the focus point of study of the Wapawab (Tree of Life).
