The Unity of Sed 3T Grav Tank is a vehicle that is a gravcraft.
- It is a military vehicle and a Grav Tank.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
Designed and manufactured at TL–12, for the Unity of Sed. These Grav Tanks originate on Jaradin (world), and are used to support army and marine operations. The vehicle has a crew of three: driver, gunner and commander. Observers note the strange use of sensors and limited communication assets as unusual. They are considered by some analysts, to be too expensive and are observed to be deployed aboard Penedur Class Destroyers. Their custom TAC missile array is carried internally with six single shot tube launchers. Theoretically, additional rounds could be carried in the cargo space, but would require two crew members to reload the 69kg missiles. Designers felt that the under armor design protects the missiles better, unlike more common external launch rails which can be destroyed easily by surface hits. This protection comes at the expense of greater volume, mass and expense for the six launch tubes. Several of the sensor systems can be data linked to allied indirect fire units to greatly enhance the accuracy of indirect fire in a counter battery role. Any targets foolish enough to use indirect fire salvos, broadcast radio or radar in their area of effect are likely to be detected. The fusion gun and VRF Gauss weapons are stock, off the shelf weapons common among designs of this technology level. Rumors persist that this is a re-manufactured design dating back to the looted arsenals of the Corolian Jurisdicture.

Basic Vehicle Characteristics[edit]
Unity of Sed 3T Grav Tank, TL 12[edit]
The vehicle's superdense armor sheaths the chassis to levels of protection equivalent or superior to starship hull metal. This turretless design is sealed with life support for the crew in vacuum and protected forces roles. It features a good balance between armor, weapons load and has excellent speed. Standard tactical employment involves advancing against enemy armor arrays with the fusion gun, if TAC missile barrages are detected then they turn tail and run, trusting the stinger mounted point defense gun to keep them safe. With the fusion gun powered down they can flee very quickly. Within the 10km threat footprint their six missiles can destroy enemy vehicles. The microwave communication link common to the guidance packages is a limiting factor. The complexity of the weapon systems and the electronics suite require at least three trained and equipped technical personnel be assigned to each vehicle if proper maintenance is to be performed. These vehicles serve side by side with Unity of Sed 6T G-Carriers.
Chassis:[edit]
- Height: 2m; Width: 3m; Length: 7m.
- Total usable volume: 42m³
- Total mass loaded: 157.57322 metric tons
- Hull Material: Superdense
- Armor: Chassis front 56, chassis sides 48, chassis rear, belly and deck 40.
- Target Size DMs: +2 low, no high hits
- Production Cost: Cr4,896,376
Movement:[edit]
The Grav Tank has two different modes: Weapons Powered and Weapons Off. The Grav Tank has 1.5 maneuver Gs when the fusion gun is powered down and 0.5 maneuver Gs when the weapon is ready to fire. NOE flight is limited by available TL–12 avionics and not available thrust.
- Speed:
- Weapons Powered mode: Maximum, 600kph / 500cm; Cruise, 450kph / 375cm, NOE is limited to 150kph / 125cm in either mode.
- Weapons Off mode: Maximum, 1,680kph / 1,400cm; Cruise, 1,260kph/ 1,050cm.
- Movement effect on fire: None
Weapons:[edit]
Full weapons stabilization.
Forward Hull Mounted Fusion Gun B[edit]
This powerful fusion gun B has a 15.7 MW input, and is a stock design and is fitted with TL–12 direct fire control, in the forward chassis. It relies on the agility of the vehicle to aim it effectively. The weapon has a burst radius in addition to impact penetration for greater area effect against adjacent targets. It can engage a single target per firing phase and is automatically spotted when it fires.
Effective Range | Long Range | Extreme Range |
1,940m (54)/3(38) | 3,880m (42)/2(26) | 7,760m (15)/1(1) |
Rear Hull Mounted VRF 4mm Gauss Gun[edit]
This weapon is gimbal mounted to allow a wide 180 degree rear firing arc. It is equipped with TL–12 point defense fire control and rolls 10d6 against hostile fire. It has a +4 signature when it fires and can engage 16 targets. The vehicle has storage for 30,000 rounds which is enough for 23 fire phases.
Effective Range | Long Range | Extreme Range |
1,500m (21)+8 | 3,000m (19)+6 | 4,500m (17)+3 |
TAC Missiles[edit]
There are four 69kg capacity, and two 64.4kg TAC missile launch tubes. The six missile tubes are mounted three on either side of the chassis and fire forward. They use a 25cm HEAP 58 warhead and have a 10km range. It takes two people to manually reload these missiles internally from the cargo bay if additional rounds are available. Two +3 to hit, fire and forget, target memory missiles (69kg) are included in the price, they combine homing and teleguided guidance packages. The target memory missiles have problems tracking fast moving targets and suffer a penalty to hit equal to the target speed bonus DM x1.5. Two teleguided (69kg) and two +3 to hit operated guided missiles (64.4kg) are also carried and utilize a 10km maser command link instead of the more typical radio broadcast.
Type | Range | Price |
Target Memory | 10 km | Cr6,900 |
Teleguided | 10 km | Cr1,826 |
Operator Guided | 10 km | Cr322.4 |
Power / Equipment:[edit]
- Power: a stock 40 megawatt fusion power plant
- consumes 60 liters of fuel/ hour; fuel capacity 6,491.8 liters, enough for 108 hours or 4.5 days.
- Sealed environment with extended life support for 3 crew (proof against CBR/NBC threats);
- laser sensor 5+ to detect linked to 100 bottles of prismatic aerosols
- extensive ECM
- battle computer
- map box
