Tiwath is a poor, nonindustrial world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This world has few prospects for economic development.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Core Subsector of Core Sector in the Domain of Sylea.
  • It has also been known as Biin.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Atmosphere[edit]

Tiwath has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. The Thin Atmosphere does not require survival gear although it may be hard on sophonts not accustomed to it.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Tiwath absorbs regular stellar flares from one of the two red dwarf stars that it orbits. The flares, every 15–18 years, cause immense fires in the twilight band, virtually levelling its forests and evaporating seas and marshlands. This event is followed by an upwelling of convection currents that carry nutrients from the dark side of the planet. New trees, foliage and animal life grow at a miraculous rate.

They carefully monitor the progress of the flares while underground and return to the surface when they are over. The return is marked by great festivals followed by the building of new habitations and the planting of new crops. Tiwathans are avid naturalists, and enjoy hiking into their marshes and forests to watch wildlife reemerge from its dormant state.
