Tiniyd is a poor, nonindustrial world.

  • As a nonindustrial world, it requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. The need to import most manufactured and high technology goods drives the price of these goods up in the open market.
  • This world has few prospects for economic development.
  • It is a member of the Third Imperium in the Thoezennt Subsector of Old Expanses Sector in the Domain of Sol.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Mainworld Size (S)[edit]

Tiniyd is a Meso World between 7,200km and 8,800km in diameter. The world has a standard gravity between 0.4G and 0.57G. The horizon will appear about 4km away.

Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]

Tiniyd has a pressure of 0.43 to 0.70 atmospheres. While the thin atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.

Mainworld Hydrosphere (H)[edit]

Tiniyd has 25-35% of its surface covered by liquid water. It has a few small seas. Wilderness refueling is possible. Water for the inhabitants will be recycled.

World Geography & Topography[edit]

Tiniyd is an extremely dry and barren world, with large tracts of impenetrable desert. The narrows between the Yumhayfuyald and Naysfamaysk seas periodically freeze and reopen, causing extensive glaciation in the north and a regular cycle of mini-ice ages. As a result, the bulk of the population is concentrated in the equatorial regions and the southern hemisphere.

  • Naysfamaysk Sea
  • Nutay Ocean
  • Yumhayfuyald Sea

Native Lifeforms[edit]

Tiniyd had a complete ecosystem before the arrival of the Vilani during the First Imperium. The majority of Vilani-introduced plants and animals were pushed into marginal niches by the introduction of Terran crops and animals during the Interstellar Wars period. Today, the majority of the animals and plants found in the fertile areas are variations of Terran flora and fauna, with a few Vilani plants and animals mixed in. Native Tiniyd flora and fauna are still dominant in the badlands and desert, and in the seas. Several species of native megafauna occupy both the shores and the depths of the polar sea.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Tiniyd was originally the site of a small Vilani colony, which was supplanted by a larger Terran colony during the Interstellar Wars. During the period of the Third Imperium, the world provides agricultural supplies and materials to neighboring Berkin, as well as a being the location of an IISS training base.

Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]

Tiniyd, as a member world of the Third Imperium has a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world.

World Starport[edit]

Tiniyd has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
