- This world has an Imperial Naval Base, capable of handling warships.
Description (Planetology)[edit]
This world is part of the namesake Shazeku Cluster.
Stellar Data[edit]
System Data[edit]
The Bamshimbakkadan religion, which held sway here, believed that the worlds of Aadii, including Shazeku itself, represented various aspects of goodness and virtue. Conversely, the worlds of Kuusi represented vice, the underworld and other evils. Although the religion is long gone, many Shazekuans remain superstitious about Kuusi.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
During the Long Night, Shazeku was governed by a pantheist religion known as the Bamshimbakkada. Its priesthood remained in power for thousands of years, but eventually was toppled by a revolution a few decades after the world was integrated into the Third Imperium. The remains of Bamshimbakkada temples, state buildings, monuments and other public works have been preserved and converted for use by the modern, high-tech society.
World Starport (St)[edit]
Shazeku has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Imperial Naval Base, hosting elements of the 51st Fleet.
World Population (P)[edit]
Shazeku has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Core Anglic, one of the principal dialects of one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
Urbanization[edit]
- Vilani cities are planned under the assumption that most transport traffic will be communal rather than private. Typically, only high-ranking manager or executive-class citizens will own their own ground cars or air/rafts.
- Vilani buildings are almost always square or rectangular, which means that when combined with a city's radial layout, there are innumerable triangular bits of land left over. This is deliberate; the leftover space is used for parks and other public facilities.
- One of the few outstanding features of Vilani architecture is its emphasis on ease of communication. Vilani buildings are specially designed with group interaction in mind. Meeting rooms form an integral part of every building.
World Technology Level (T)[edit]
Shazeku possesses a Technology Level of TL–14 or TL-E in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early meson communicators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, early collectors, and advanced fusion plants.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land, Water & Air: Personal G-Tubes and advanced gravcraft.
- Space: Advanced interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-5.
World Government (G)[edit]
Shazeku is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.
World Law (L)[edit]
Shazeku has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
- The civil police are the Mashkim.
