Shardi is an industrial world with a tainted atmosphere. The system has a population over one billion. This world is designated an Amber Zone. Caution is advised since the world has an environment, laws, customs, life forms, or other conditions that are not well understood and might be a danger to a visitor.  The world has a colony on Andula (Dagudashaag 3138). This is a high technology world with available technology over the standards for Charted Space.  This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Laraa Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Shardi, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and the fiefdom of a count. Both are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Shardi.

Mainworld Data[edit]

The mainworld, a satellite of a gas giant in the second orbit, was particularly rich in minerals, and supplied the Vilani with materials needed for their expansion rimward. Over the next five centuries much of Shardi was worked out and attention switched to the other small rocky bodies in the system. The shafts and galleries were reworked and modified to provide homes for the growing permanent population.

History and Background[edit]

Human habitation in the Shardi system grew hand-in-hand with the colonization of Kadushi (Dagudashaag 3136). This system is very rich in rare earths and precious metals, and very quickly major mining activity was established after the first mineral survey. Shardi, Kadushi, and Amluamii (Dagudashaag 3135) managed to survive the Long Night unscathed and supplied the economic impetus and leading political figures in the region's emergence from the chaos.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Shardi has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Economy[edit]

CCC.jpg

Shardi, Kakar, and Kadushi have pooled their resources to form a government sponsored shipping company, Cluster Cargo Carriers. CCC specializes in transporting bulk freight, and is now considered to be serious competition for Tukera Lines in the area.

The Shardi government has a 30% equity interest in Cluster Cargo Carriers, LIC.
