A culture of free traders that developed in the Empty Quarter Sector -- and on its border with Ley Sector -- during the Long Night.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

Sesheryn, named from Aaca, were Humans of Solomani-Vilani descent, regarded as allies of the Luriani Protectorate. There were many similarities between the Sesheryn and Luriani, though some were simply the result of independent development.

There was no real Sesheryn state, the "Sesheryn Feodarate" being more a loose alliance of independent worlds who had agreed on a common set of rules of behaviour. The Reeves were the officials of the Feodarate, forming what passed for a government and administrative service.

Still suspicious of the Third Imperium, they were rare in direct Imperial service for several decades after the Luriani War ended.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

In the golden age of the Third Imperium, they are a small tightly-knit community, still strongly influenced by their Luriani mentors and mistrusted by the bulk of their region's population. Most speak Standard Luriani (Aaca), using it as a trade language, setting them apart from the local Vilani-speaking majority. The Sesheryn would eventually come to dominate certain rimward portions of the Empty Quarter and coreward Ley Sector, creating a unique culture later known as the "Winter Blooms" and playing a vital role in sparking the Gateway renaissance during the 800's.
