Description (Planetology)[edit]

This world is part of the namesake Sanches Cluster.
Stellar Data[edit]
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Sanches was terraformed extensively during the Rule of Man. The world's atmosphere was thickened and its hydrosphere enhanced by bombarding it with icy planetoids and cometary bodies in what were then desolate regions.
It is one of the Sanchesian Prime Worlds, the group of high-population worlds at the heart of the Sanches Cluster.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Sanches has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
- There is an associated Imperial Naval Base, hosting the headquarters for the 200th Fleet.
World Population (P)[edit]
Sanches has a population of 10,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).
- High Population Worlds like this tend to have huge consumer markets.
Linguistic Topography[edit]
The most commonly heard languages are:
- Core Anglic, one of the principal dialects of one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
- Vilani, one of the two official languages of the Imperium.
World Government (G)[edit]
Sanches is governed by a Charismatic Oligarchy, like a charismatic dictatorship in that a larger group has asserted their right to rule. The group will likely have better rules of succession than a single dictator and may last longer, or may transition to a non-charismatic dictatorship.
- Sanches has a highly fluidic governmental structure. Its leading 25 corporations submit government officers to a body called the Board of Designates. The factors that constitute a leading corporation are many and coalesced by a complex algorithm. Profits are the key factor but consistency, public sentiment, fame, tradition, altruism and other factors are also considered.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Sanches has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All objects specifically manufactured as weapons are typically regulated or prohibited (outside private residences or visiting starships).
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Sanches possesses a Technology Level of TL–15 or TL-F in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Meson Communicators and Pseudo Reality Communications.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Miniature super-batteries, improved collectors, and advanced Fusion+.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Advanced gravcraft.
- Air: Advanced gravcraft and speeders.
- Space: Advanced gravcraft and G-Carriers.
- FTL: Jump Drive-6.
