System Data[edit]

Ore refining facilities are being built on one of the orbiting moons, to help ease the planet's infamous overcrowding.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Nenngos Goukae.jpg

The struggle over resources is unending on Saezghen. Armies constantly clash in the subterranean networks or on the barren surface to capture mines, manufacturing centers, and reservoirs. Occasionally, a faction manages to capture all of the world, but it inevitably splits into smaller factions to start the cycle over.

  • Before the Thirz Empire, Saezghen's history was bloodier still, when its armies fought wars of extermination to control population growth. The world is now trying alternatives under the Empire's guidance. But no one has ruled out a return to the old ways if population growth is not checked. Most of the ground forces of the Thirz Empire originate from Saezghen.
  • The Nenngos Goukae corporation have built their own class-B starport central to their ore refining facilities. It is available only to traders and shipping lines.

World Starport[edit]

Saezghen has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

  • Vargr starports reflect the variety of Vargr architecture, with many disparate styles of building, each having their own unique ornamentation and gaudy colour scheme, and all competing for the attention of the onlooker. Emblems for the major shipping lines and port facilities abound.

World Population (P)[edit]

Saezghen has a population of 40,000,000,000 sophonts (tens of billions).

Urbanization[edit]

Vargr cities are lively and chaotic, full of garish colours and loud noises. Streets are packed and buildings press together. Vehicle traffic is fast and chaotic; the accident rate is low only because of superior Vargr reflexes. Zoning codes are rare, and districts jumble together.

World Technology Level[edit]

Saezghen possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government[edit]

Saezghen has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.

As a member of the Thirz Empire, this world is represented in the peerage, by a single aristocrat. The world also has a governor that represents the King to its nations.

World Culture[edit]

There is a strong Zhodani influence on the Thirz Empire, of which this world is part. Psionic training is more commonplace than on most Vargr worlds.

World Timeline[edit]

  • 427: Early settlers discover that the planet is rich in natural resources.
  • 852: The Thirz Empire gains control and a semblance of stability is introduced to the over-populated world.
  • 856: Hostilities begin anew with armies clashing where the most profitable mines are operating.
  • 1105: The Thirz retain control of several continents, but rival factions contest them. Second to the Thirz Empire is the successful mining corporation, Nenngos Goukae.
