Sandardin is a garden world with an environment conducive to most sophonts. The system has a population between 100 million and a billion sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Nulinad Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Sandardin, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of an Imperial knight (the Imperial representative to the world) and a baronet, and the fiefdoms of a baron and a viscount. All four are members of the Imperial Landed Nobility who oversee affairs regarding the world at an Interstellar and Imperial level. This world has a nearby Naval Base, capable of handling warships. Less than 10% of the world's population is the Minor Race Bwap.

History and Background[edit]

Sandardin was originally settled by the people of Arakaad (Empty Quarter 0833) in 270, during the False Dawn era. After the Bust, Arakaad again retreated into her shell, but the Sandardini remained optimistic and outgoing -- despite suffering their share of tragedy and violence. The system truly blossomed only after the Imperial Naval base was built over it, in 713: many Imperial servicemen liked the world, and numerous military families (bloodlines, Noble or not, who have a tradition of Imperial service) chose to lay down roots here.

Sandardin owes much to the Imperial Navy. One of the largest military bases in the sector orbits above the main world which brings thousands of military personnel to a planet which normally wouldn't see that much traffic. The planet itself, while not a paradise, is pleasant enough. Rich in both chemicals and metals, mining is a major industry but farming does well also and the wines produced here are in high demand.

Linguistic Topography[edit]

The following languages are among the most commonly used here:

  • Anglic: One of the two official languages of the Imperium.
  • Vilani: One of the two official languages of the Imperium.
  • Wawa-pakekeke-wawa: The common, precise and bureaucratic language of the Bwaps.
