The Nu Vese class Grav Tank is a TL-13 Armored Fighting Vehicle.

Description (Specifications)[edit]

The Nu Vese class Grav Tank, TL-13: The vehicle's 201 tons of superdense armor, strains the gav modules and available hull volume. The front of the chassis is radically sloped to increase the armor's effectiveness. This is intended to ensure all aspect, uniform protection far superior to starship hull metal. This design is unsealed and has NO life support, as there is no crew nor passengers. A larger fusion power plant is installed to ensure some modest mobility. There is a fully rotating, stabilized turret on the chassis deck for the weapon systems. A dorsal Fusion Y Gun is equipped with advanced direct fire control.

Basic Vehicle Characteristics[edit]

Following the Imperial Army and IISS Universal Vehicle Profile and data, additional information is presented in the format shown here. The small craft factor indicates the number of squadrons (of ten craft) carried on the vehicle when applicable. Tonnage on the universal vehicle profile is shown in kilotons (thousands of tons) where necessary.

DRONE Missiles[edit]

There is a 100.85kg capacity, magazine fed, tube launcher built into the turret on the chassis deck. Ten very expensive and very powerful DRONE missiles are included in the purchase price. These drones carry 25cm HEAP 59 warheads. They feature two command link communication systems, a 5,000 power radio and 1,000km range MASER. The drones have a +3 DM to hit and 53 turns (~26 minutes) of cruise endurance. They cruise at 200kph/167cm, until the command to attack is given. The 8kg of batteries can store 80 megawatt-seconds of power. The grav modules generate 500kg of thrust, and almost 4Gs of acceleration, which yields and attack speed of 3,364kph/2,803cm. There is no on board storage for additional rounds beyond the ten drones loaded. Some feel the missiles' communication suite is overkill.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

The Nu Vese class Grav Tank was designed and manufactured at TL–13, these vehicles are manufactured for the Talokan Armed Forces in Mavuzog and Theta Borealis Sectors. They have TL–13 direct fire control for the dorsal Fusion Y gun and a drone missile launcher. The drone vehicles are less accurate, but on such small vehicles the drone brains free up room. This unmanned drone vehicle is unsealed and carries no life support. They usually fight side-by-side with a drone Talokan class Grav APC. They lack extensive ECM and as a result are easier to find and kill. The two remote turrets address anti-infantry concerns. Some critics wonder why the unmanned tank has more armor than the manned one. Their short duration can be problematic as it restricts their operational range.
