Description (Character)[edit]

Empress Nicholle Eleventh in the line of emperors of the Third Imperium. Oldest issue of Martin V. Born 401, proclaimed empress in 457, assassinated 475 by Cleon IV. Second empress to hold the throne.

History & Background (Biography)[edit]

The fact that Nicholle was assassinated by her successor is indicative of the strained fabric of the Imperium in those days before the Civil War and the Barracks Emperors.

  • The incident, and the pressure of certain member worlds of the Imperium contributed to the establishment (now somewhat discredited) of succession by right of assassination (see previous ascension of Porfiria under very unusual and far more justified circumstances).

One of Nicholle's last official acts was to declare Aosta an Imperial Reserve world, in late 474.

Non-canon[edit]

Married in 440 to Mark Sallis Chien, 3rd child of the Archduke of Diaspora.
