Mikhid supports a population of fewer than 10,000 sophonts. This world is a satellite of a gas giant or another planet in the system. This is a cold world with an overall climate at the lower temperature range of human-congruous sophont endurance. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Laraa Subsector of Dagudashaag Sector and in the Domain of Vland. Mikhid, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight, a member of the Imperial Landed Nobility who acts as an Imperial representative to the world. This world contains an Imperial Scout Base, capable of handling Scout Service starships and personnel. During the Long Night this world was named Nuuam Vlaiish.

Astrography and Planetology[edit]

Mikhid is a member of the Sylean Main.

Even at best Mikhid is a hostile world. It is the inner satellite of an extremely large gas giant which in turn orbits a tiny red main sequence star. The world actually receives more energy from the gas giant than it does from the system primary. The world is bathed in intense radiation and the dangerous background levels give the atmosphere its taint. Mikhid is, by human standards, frigidly cold but still supports a vast amount of life.

Remarks

Native Sophont: Mikhidian Protosophont[edit]

Mikhid supports an emerging semi-sophont race know as Mikhidians.

History and Background[edit]

Mikhidians have been genetically advanced over the last 750 years as part of the Brethren Uplift Institute Xeno-programme. This consists of assisting potential races towards full sentience. The IISS maintain a clandestine base on the world to observer the Mikhidians. Because the Mikhidians are not yet classified as truly sophont they are not included in the world's population.

World Starport (Sp)[edit]

Mikhid has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Mikhid has population of 500 sophonts (hundreds).

  • This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without moderate outside assistance. This may represent a large transient population such as the crew of a fleet of starships, the dwindling remnants of a dying colony, a construction team building a new colony, or an outpost that could evolve into a colony.

World Government (G)[edit]

Mikhid has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

Mikhid has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

Mikhid possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
