A proto-sophont species native to Mikhid.

Mikhidians are evolved from bilaterally symmetrical hunter-gatherers and mass over a ton.

Physiology and Ecology

They have eight limbs; the forward pair have developed into dexterous manipulative arms. The head mounts four eyes arranged to give 360° vision. The eyes are perfectly adapted to the dim red light of their homeworld and can see far into the infra-red end of the spectrum. Their huge bodies are covered in interlocking scales made up of dense honeycomb. The scales have remarkable heat retention properties and help keep the creatures warm.

History and Background

The IISS has the Mikhidians under observation as they are an emerging sophont race. They are not yet classified as, thus not yet offered the protections of, a full Minor Race.
