Lucinda Station is a low-population vacuum world, with a population of less than 10,000 sophonts in population size, warranting hazardous environment precautions.

  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • This world is a "Twilight Zone World", a planet that is tidally-locked to its star. It has a hot side that permanently faces the star, a cold side that permanently faces away, and a narrow twilight zone in-between.
  • It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Delos Subsector of Neworld Sector.

Mainworld Data[edit]

Lucinda Station is a small, barren planet the size of a large moon. As such, it is an airless, waterless rock. It is, however, the largest rock in the M0 system and it ironically lies in the life zone of that star.

Mainworld Geography & Topography[edit]

Lucinda Station is covered in the usual collection of impact craters, with the majority of them being near the cold pole.

World Starport[edit]

Lucinda Station has a Class E Starport, a frontier quality installation with few expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of a downport.

World Technology Level[edit]

Lucinda Station possesses a Technology Level of TL–9.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Fiber optics and satellite communication and data networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fusion power.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Ultra high-speed trains and early grav vehicles.
    • Water: High efficiency sailcraft, multihulled seacraft, improved artificial gills.
    • Air: Tiltrotorcraft, exotic VTOL's, PARWIG, and rocket-assisted suborbitals.
    • Space: SSTO spacecraft, early military spacecraft (System Craft), and interstellar STL starships
    • FTL: Prototype Jump Drive-1.

World Government[edit]

Lucinda Station is governed by a Representative Democracy where government leadership is representatives elected by eligible voters. What determines an eligible voter varies. The representatives determine policy, including selecting members of the bureaucracy. There can be referendum, votes by eligible voters on specific subjects.

World Law Level[edit]

Lucinda Station has a moderate law level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Light assault weapons, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.

World Culture[edit]

The starport of Lucinda Station is barely functional as such, but it acts as a urban center for the various science stations. The inhabitants are scientific families, mostly from Gloriana. An adventurous bunch, they are a self-funded extended team that built their own ship and functional J-1 drive to get here. While they planned well, and were able to become self-sufficient upon arrival, their J-1 drive suffered a near complete failure. Without the necessary parts, the population has had little choice but to dig in.

Travellers will likely be greeted with a grand celebration of sorts. While many of the population are invested in the colony's success, others would very much like to return to Gloriana. In any case, the leadership will certainly ask for a mail run to Gloriana, and requisition the needed parts for their jump drive. Any popular culture materials will be extremely welcome here.
