League Marines
The Plavian League recruits most of its marines from the high population worlds of the league.
Most League Marines are equipped to at least TL–9 with elite units being equipped to TL–11 with equipment manufactured on Tash (Gateway 1513 A968887-B). They currently field the following units. There is no unified command and groups are assembled as needed to cope with crisis issues and deal with external threats.

The basic unit of marine operations is a squad of ten marines with a SNCO. They are equipped with vacc suits or combat armor when available, as all league marines are protected forces trained. Laser rifles tend to predominate with integral 3.9cm RAM grenade launchers fitted. Each squad has two heavy weapons experts with a TAC missile launcher. Small remote detonated AP mines are also popular. They carry razor sharp ceramic blades and automatic 10mm gyrojet (snub pistols) for side arms.
One hundred marines is a company and five hundred marines are a battalion. One thousand marines is a regiment. Divisional units and above provide supporting units. Kaster class Light Fighter squadrons and SDBs are integrated to provide CAS when available. On demand ortillery is expected from the parent ship. Most SNCOs are trained forward observers. When available heavily armored tracked AFVs with artillery and point defense and Air Rafts are used for support the drop infantry. All helmets incorporate 0.1kg radios, IR and LI vision. Each platoon has two snipers, two medics (w/10kg medical kits) and two cooks who report directly to the 1st lieutenant (platoon leader). Supply pods are dropped from space with the marine capsules.
