The Kolire are a sophont species, a non-Human Minor Race native to the eponymous Kolire Sector, inhabiting worlds in Subsectors O and P (the former of which is also named Kolire). They are little-known to most of Charted Space, being located on the far side of the Kolire-Kidunal Sparsity. The Hivers have some dealings with them but have not expanded into Kolire territory.

The Kolire are dominant over two additional Minor Races in the region, the Aqigi and the Todriwa.

Worlds and Populations

The Kolire have colonised every world in their home cluster, which lies on the rimward side of Kolire Sector near the border with Genfert Sector.

Known Kolire populations include the following:

• Todriwa (Kolire 2235): 28,000,000 (70% of the population)
• Kolire 2236: 360,000 (90% of the population)
• Kolire 2237: 3,000
• Kolire (Kolire 2338): 30 billion; the Kolire homeworld. The world supports a Naval Base and an A-class Starport.
• Kolire 2339: 600,000
• Aqigi (Kolire 2340): 1,400,000 (70% of the population)
• Kolire 2438: 400,000
• Kolire 2538: 800,000. The world supports a Naval Base and an A-class Starport.
• Kolire 2539: 60 (exiled community; the world is interdicted)
• Kolire 2638: 30,000
• Kolire 2738: 300,000,000
