Kirur Main
The Kirur Main is an astrographic feature primarily located in Ruupiin Sector.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
A large Main comprising over seven hundred systems spread across much of four sectors, and impinging on two others. The Main is named for Kirur, the homeworld of the K'kree, who were the first race to explore and dominate the Main, and who remain the dominant force along the entire Main. Kirur is located near the rimward extent of the Main.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
There is no strong evidence that the region of Charted Space dominated by this Main was extensively traveled or explored prior to the Crusades of the K'kree. None of the known Minor Races located on the Main were spacefarers when the K'kree encountered them.
The K'kree expanded along the paths of the Main in the first centuries of their Crusade, initially discovering that the systems around them were frequently lifeless or primordial. They were expecting to find intelligent life eventually, and would soon encounter worlds so populated, depopulating some, and allowing others to live, and eventually serve, the will of the K'kree. Three sophont races who now serve the K'kree in great numbers and significant roles were found on or near the Kirur Main, while others are less privileged, either serving in local roles or unable to leave their homeworlds at all. The unlucky races were simply destroyed.
Following the K'kree war with the Hivers, K'kree expansion halted, followed by an ongoing era of resource development. The worlds of the Main are among the oldest kiruformed and developed worlds in the Two Thousand Worlds.
