Kayhyurv is a low-population water world, which has 90% or more of its surface covered in an ocean of water and a population of less than 10,000 sophonts.
- The inhabitants of this world live on the roughly 10% of exposed land mass, in underwater colonies, on city ships, or similar arrangements.
- It is a member of the Anubian Trade Coalition in the Tlianke Subsector of Hinterworlds Sector.
- This world is home to a population of Droyne.
Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
This world is part of the Anubis Main.
Stellar Data[edit]
Mainworld Data[edit]
Mainworld Atmosphere (A)[edit]
Kayhyurv has a pressure of 0.71 to 1.49 atmospheres. While a Standard Atmosphere does not require survival gear this atmosphere also contains an unusual taint such as disease, a hazardous gas mix, pollutants, or sulfur compounds which requires the use of a Filter Mask. Some taints may require more protective equipment. TL–3 or more advanced survival gear is required to settle this world.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
Kayhyurv is claimed by the Anubian Trade Coalition, but is generally ignored. The population code represents only the token Anubian presence (i.e the starport), omitting the Droyne communities who live off the bounty of the sea.
World Starport (Sp)[edit]
Kayhyurv has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.
World Population (P)[edit]
Kayhyurv has a population of 30 sophonts (tens).
- This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without significant outside assistance. This may represent a transient population such as the crew of a starship, the final survivors of a dying colony, an advance team setting up to receive colonists, or a small outpost where establishing a colony is not the primary objective.
- This refers to the Anubian population. The number of Droyne is uncertain; several communities are established on the planet.
World Government (G)[edit]
Kayhyurv has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.
World Law (L)[edit]
Kayhyurv has no law in practice. It is an Anarchy. On many worlds, this by itself justifies an Amber Zone advisory. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Kayhyurv possesses a Technology Level of TL–10 or TL-A in Hexadecimal Notation.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Holovision, Personal Global Communications, and advanced Translators.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Increasingly advanced fusion plants and advanced fuel cells.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land & Water: Grav belts and maturing gravcraft.
- Air: Greatly improved hybrid grav-aircraft.
- Space: Improved interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).
- FTL: Jump Drive-1.
- This refers to the technology in use at the starport.
Economy[edit]
The internal currency of the Anubian Trade Coalition is the Florin. It trades at about 5 to 1 with the Imperial credit.
Anubians and the ATC view corporations poorly. Their belief is that one takes a direct part in ownership of a company either as a proprietor or as a partner.
