Indara is an agricultural world with an ideal environment for producing food from plants, animals, or other forms. The system has a population between 100,000 and 10 million sophonts. It is a member of Third Imperium in the Nulinad Subsector of Empty Quarter Sector and in the Domain of Antares. Indara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estate of an Imperial knight and the fiefdom of a baron. Both are members of the Imperial Nobility charged with overseeing the world.

History and Background[edit]
In approximately 850 Imperial -- 'when the universe was young, and the Faithful still dominated the infidels' -- there were six major powers on the world of Indara. The smallest of them was the Sultanate of Jizan, of only three million people -- but, being of the right race and religion, they had access to enough money, technology, and Imperial military support to subjugate the other human nations. (The small Vargr and Bwap nations that survived the Long Night were wiped out in the early decades of the Third Imperium, on this Solomani-dominant -- now Solomani-exclusive -- world.)
Then came the Hebrin Rebellion of 871-872, the crushing Imperial response, and the fall of Arab supremacy in the Six Subsectors. The Sultanate found itself cut off from its support network, and surrounded by enemies with vengeance on their minds. Still, in a desperate war (The Three-Front War, 875-878), the Sultanate managed to stave off destruction long enough to compel a suspicious and hostile Imperium to broker a peace and insure its survival… for a while.
The end came unexpectedly. In 906, a major EMP detonation occurred over the Sultanate of Jizan, shorting most electronics -- including the financial and infrastructure networks. The stores soon ran out of supplies, and the strictly digital economic system fell apart. Mass starvation began a week after the strike: but refugees trying to flee to neighboring lands were killed.
Two weeks after the detonation, hostile neighbors were invading the Sultanate, starting the brief Final Jizani War. The initial justification was ‘to restore order’ but when this claim became ridiculous on its face the actual goals of justice (re: vengeance), irredentism, pure territorial conquest, and ethnic cleansing were declared. It was extremely difficult for residents of the dying Sultanate to get word out, but with the help of sympathetic Islamic interstellar traders and those low-profile Muslim Imperial agents that survived the purges, enough evidence was finally rounded up to force an Imperial Intervention: not to save the Sultanate, but to put an end to the slaughter of the Muslims.
In the mid-890s the Abadani ideology arose on Indara.
Imperial High (Landed) Nobility[edit]
Indara, as a member world of the Third Imperium, holds the estates of two members of the Imperial Nobility, who are charged with overseeing the world.
World Starport[edit]
Indara has a Class A Starport, an excellent quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and other kinds of repair, and construction of both starships and non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
Politics[edit]
Barony of Indara: This was just another backward world of the Quarter until the arrival of the Bahadur family in 890. Able to trace their lineage to the Kolhapur princely state in the Britannic Imperium, this House used its wealth to bring the world up three tech levels, and its starport up three classes, in only a century. Agricultural and light industrial development continued apace, and the system was expected to hit TL A in c. 1010 Imperial.
