It is named for the star Alpha Cygni
Gampin contains an archeological site associated with the Kurakhash, an extinct minor Race that established a small interstellar civilization more than 50,000 years ago. It also has evidence of human habitation from the Second Imperium period, when exploration was widely believed to have ceased.
