I'Sred*Nity is a ring of many small worldlets (planetoids AKA an "asteroid belt"), not capable of retaining an atmosphere or water, and nonindustrial in nature.

  • These worldlets warrant hazardous environment precautions.
  • Life in a vacuum requires great discipline. After all, it only takes one forgotten seal on a vacuum suit to spell death. Those who survive tend to be very methodically-minded and attentive to small detail.
  • The worldlets require extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • Nearly 100% of the population is composed of Sred*Ni.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Significant Sred*Ni habitat-building is taking place in the asteroids.

Stellar Data[edit]

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Other than a few rare visas to visit the homeworld of I'Sred*Nihil, the Sred*Ni allow no aliens within their systems -- excepting a 'refuelling corridor' at I'Sred*Nity.

World Starport[edit]

I'Sred*Nity has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

I'Sred*Nity has a population of 50,000 sophonts (tens of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population consists of Sred*Ni.

World Demographics[edit]

Sred*Ni are divided into eight castes, of which only the hermaphroditic Breeder is capable of reproduction. Influences from communal telepathic links initiate hormonal activation that determines caste development, matching capabilities with societal needs. The castes are ordered into a three-tier class system, though the reasoning behind this structure is unknown to outsiders.

Urbanization[edit]

The Sred*Ni are adept climbers, and their structures often have grasp-holds on the walls and ceilings, allowing them to hang in place.

World Technology Level (TL)[edit]

I'Sred*Nity possesses a Technology Level of TL–12 or TL-C in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

I'Sred*Nity is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Law Level (L)[edit]

I'Sred*Nity has a high law level with laws covering many areas of interactions of people, corporations, and the government. A few worlds with this law level may be Amber Zones. Any interaction with the judicial system requires an Advocate trained in the local legal system. Law enforcement is present almost everywhere, either as people or via technology. Legal proceedings can take weeks to months to resolve and involve a dozen or more people. All blade weapons and firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
