Hunter Divide
The Hunter Divide is an astrographic feature lying across the central part of Theron Sector.
- It is a rift area of low stellar density.
- It is a significant obstacle to interstellar travel.
Description (Specifications)[edit]
The Hunter Divide is a large region of lower stellar density lying within the central part of Theron Sector.
The Divide is part of the Idella Rift.
The Divide is considered to consist of four distinct regions:
- The Archers Drift.
- The Longdark.
- The Neck.
- The Joseph Reach.
What determines an area as a rift is based on Jump Drive performance.
The highest tech level commonly encountered out this Far Along (spinward of the Third Imperium) is TL–12, though a few worlds may be more advanced.
- This level of technology allows the routine use of up to Jump-3 drives.
- Locally, areas that cannot be crossed by Jump-3-capable vessels are denoted as rift regions.
- The nature and borders of a rift may be determined by other criteria in different regions.
History & Background[edit]
The Hunter Divide is a desolate and lonely place, its dark and empty core fringed by unpopulated wilderness systems.
- A few deep-frozen rogue worlds may lie within its boundaries.
The Divide prevent routine travel by starships.
- They form a natural obstacle to exploration and exploitation within the region.
Historical Data[edit]
The Divide was originally charted during the 300s and 400s, during the Imperial First Survey.
