Hakhyas is an agricultural, nonindustrial world still lacking adequate means to expand its economy.

  • As an agricultural world, this world is a near-ideal environment for producing quality foodstuffs of plant, animal, and other forms. Quality foodstuffs are a major export commodity for this world.
  • It requires extensive imports of outside technology to maintain a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This world is part of the Aslan Hierate, as a single multiple-world clan dominate, in the Khtoiakta Subsector of Dark Nebula Sector.
  • This world has an Aslan Clan Base, which may combine the features of an army base for ground forces, a scout base, or even a naval base for starships.
  • This planet was once known as Tangaa.

Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]

Native Life[edit]

Extensive native life.

Finding the temperate climate and thin oxygen-nitrogen atmosphere hospitable to Terran life, the earliest Human residents introduced many Terran food crops.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Hakhyas is the current capital of Clan Owyahiy, one of the founding members of the Tlaukhu that lost its position in the aftermath of the Aslan Cultural Purge. Owyahiy was forced to sell off its last remaining holdings on Kusyu, a humiliation it has never lived down.

Hakhyas was originally settled by Terrans who named it Tangaa. Around -600 the Owyahiy defeated the Human inhabitants, claimed the world as their new capital, and forced surviving Humans offworld.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Hakhyas has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.

World Population (P)[edit]

Hakhyas has a population of 300,000 sophonts (hundreds of thousands).

  • This is a Nonindustrial World, too small to support the complete chain of production of most goods from start to finish.
  • The population almost entirely consists of Aslan.

World Languages[edit]

  • Trokh: The universal language of the modern Aslan monoculture.
    • Aslan Languages: Note that some Aslan clans retain obscure or archaic languages for personal use in addition to Trokh.

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Hakhyas possesses a Technology Level of TL–11 or TL-B in Hexadecimal Notation.

World Government (G)[edit]

Hakhyas is governed by a Civil Service Bureaucracy. The leadership of the government takes another form (democracy, dictatorship, oligarchy), but the bureaucracy leadership influences policy. The government leadership may select the bureaucracy leadership, but not its membership. Usually the governmental leadership is divided, or incapable of setting policy, and the bureaucracy provides a stabilizing influence. This ruling bureaucracy may be the full government bureaucractic apparatus or a section with limited jurisdiction but considerable influence, like the military.

World Military[edit]

The headquarters for clan Space and ground forces are located just outside the capital, next to the headquarters for the mercenary company Iykhuikta, which is the primary source of income for the Owyahiy.

World Law[edit]

Criminal acts are rare but not unheard of in Aslan society. Crimes are different from the insults or slurs that provoke duels, and are classified into three categories: crimes of passion, crimes with victims, and crimes of honour.

  • Crimes of passion involve misbehavior prompted by temper, anger, or provocation. The accused is judged by the head of the family, pride, or clan involved.
  • Crimes with victims involve taking money or items of value, or violating the person of another for profit (kidnapping, terrorism, piracy). General practice is to have an impartial earleatrais consider the case and present findings.
  • Crimes of honour involve failure to observe the rituals established for social behaviour. Judgement is made by the pride or clan head, depending on the severity of the crime. Crimes of honour are the most serious in Aslan society; in practice, most are never tried as a duel to the death occurs first.
