Freehaven is a preindustrial world.

  • As a preindustrial world, this planet cannot yet manufacture enough high-technology resources to support a modern, star-faring society. Having to import most manufactured and high tech goods drives the price up for these items at this world.
  • This world hopes to one day be one of the subsector's industrial powerhouses, but hasn't yet realized that dream. The leaders of this world are regularly embarking on trade missions to attract more investment capital, worker-immigrants, and other necessary stepping stones to achieve this goal.
  • It is a member of the Swanfei Free Worlds in the Forcett Subsector of Gateway Sector.
  • About 80% of the population is composed of humans and other sophonts.
  • About 20% of the population is composed of Swanfeh.

History & Background (Dossier)[edit]

Freehaven is a member of the Swanfei Free Worlds in the Forcett Subsector of Gateway Sector.

For centuries, the "free worlds" were little but a port for pirates and smugglers -- the world name was quite literal -- but in time, the profits of piracy were used to create legitimate business. Now the Swanfei Free Worlds are a recognised polity, albeit a rather rough-and-ready one.

Freehaven ironically has rather a high law level compared to most Swanfei worlds.

World Starport (St)[edit]

Freehaven has a Class C Starport, an average quality installation which features amenities including unrefined fuel for starships, some brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing maintenance and other kinds of repair. Ports of this classification generally have only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)[edit]

Freehaven has a population of 60,000,000 sophonts (tens of millions).

World Demographics[edit]

World Technology Level (T)[edit]

Freehaven possesses a Technology Level of TL–7.

  • Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Early video and early satellite communication networks.
  • Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fuel cells, solar energy, and geothermal power sources.
  • Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
    • Land: Improved automobiles, hovercraft, and bullet trains.
    • Water: Hydrofoils and early triphibians.
    • Air: Hang gliders and supersonic jets.
    • Space: Deep space probes and interplanetary spacecraft (System Craft).

World Government (G)[edit]

Freehaven has a Balkanized Government. There is no central world government. The world has several governments competing for control of the world. These may be allies, cooperating, competitors, or at war with each other.
