Finestre is a low population, fluidic hellworld of less than 10,000 sophonts struggling to survive in an inhospitable environment.

• A fluid world has an oceanic geography consisting of heavily contaminated water or a substance such as ammonia, methane, hydrocarbons, or other exotic liquid.
• Hellworlds often offer daily, and sometimes hourly, life-threatening situations to their inhabitants.
• It is a Non-Aligned world dominated by human sophonts located in the Riftin Subsector of Gateway Sector.

History & Background (Dossier)

This world lies on the independent trade route known as the Gateway-Sardis Run, connecting the Megusard Corporate to the Galian Federation.

The wreckage of a starship was found drifting in the Finestre System. The ship was apparently built for Humans but was equipped with a badly deteriorated and rather primitive jump drive. Some speculate that there is a link to the apparent historical Human colony on Gravin.

World Starport (Sp)

Finestre has a Class D Starport, a poor quality installation which has few of the expected amenities. There is unrefined fuel for starships and a limited variety of ship provisions. There is no shipyard of any kind, but there may be parts and technical support for doing minor services and repair. Ports of this classification generally consist of only a downport, unless this is a trade port or system with an hostile environment mainworld.

World Population (P)

Finestre has a population of 5,000 sophonts (thousands).

• This is a Low Population World and the population would be too low to sustain itself without a little outside assistance. This may represent the home base of a sizable but mostly transient population such as the base of a major starship expedition, the last generation of a dying colony, the first generation of a new colony, or a large outpost that will probably evolve into a colony if not stopped.

World Government (G)

Finestre has no central government or substantial government apparatus; an Anarchy. The largest governmental structure would be a family, tribe, or single clan. The largest group will be between 50 and 100 individuals, and there may be dozens to hundreds of them. This governmental structure can be stable over long periods of time if the population remains small or geographically separated.

World Law Level (L)

Finestre has a low law level. There are few laws, covering only important areas. There may be few or no law enforcement officers, the expectation is citizens will bring law breakers to the attention of the Judicial system. Legal proceedings will be fast, with few people involved. For interactions outside of the framework of the laws, cultural norms dominate. Machine guns, other automatic weapons, portable energy weapons, and other military weapons, body pistols, explosives, and poison gas are typically regulated or prohibited.
