Description (Astrography & Planetology)[edit]
No information yet available.
History & Background (Dossier)[edit]
This world was originally named Patina. The only garden world in Hyperion Subsector, it was peaceful but not particularly advanced or efficient. It was annexed to the Hyperion League after a coup placed Zara Lupeski, daughter of the de facto League leader, in charge.
In 1097, the Kajaani Triumvirate withdrew its initial recognition of the Hyperion League to protest the annexation of Enterprise.
The changes to the world's government and name were met with indifference by most locals, though a cabal of former leaders are agitating to restore their rule. After the takeover, a rebel organisation known as the Patina Freedom Front (PFF) infiltrated Hyperion and began a campaign of sabotage against Hyperion League facilities (usually avoiding major casualties).
World Starport[edit]
Enterprise has a Class B Starport, a good quality installation which includes all the expected amenities including refined fuel for starships, brokerage services for passengers and cargo, and a variety of ship provisions. There is a shipyard capable of doing annual maintenance, overhauls and most kinds of repair, and construction of non-starships. Most ports of this classification have both a Highport and a Downport.
World Population (P)[edit]
Enterprise has a population of 300,000,000 sophonts (hundreds of millions).
World Government (G)[edit]
Enterprise is governed by a Charismatic Dictatorship. Charismatic governments justify their ability to rule by simply asserting their right to rule. Charismatic dictatorships are typically young governments, coming as a recent change, and rely on the leader(s) to supply head of government.
This world is a member of the Hyperion League, a de facto government but also a holding company, ultimately controlled by Hyperion Lines and the Lupeski family.
Military[edit]
Hyperion Security Services (HSS), an accredited mercenary organisation, has deployed units on Enterprise to put down a continuing insurgency by surviving members of the Patina governing body.
World Law Level (L)[edit]
Enterprise has a moderate level with laws covering many areas of government and interaction. These laws are simple enough that most people can act as their own advocate, though for serious issues a professional is recommended. Law enforcement officials will be present, but not in great numbers. Personal concealable firearms, and anything more destructive, are typically regulated or prohibited.
World Technology Level (TL)[edit]
Enterprise possesses a Technology Level of TL–6.
- Common Communication technologies for this TL include: Telephone, radio, and television.
- Common Power Generation technologies for this TL include: Early fission power generation, advanced water and wind generation of electricity.
- Common Transportation technologies for this TL include:
- Land: Improved automobiles, early ATV's, and dedicated AFV's.
- Water: Amphibious vehicles, improved submersibles, and early SCUBA gear.
- Air: Early jet aircraft and rotorcraft VTOL's.
- Space: Early unmanned rocket delivery systems and early manned orbital rockets.
